Snow - days 2&3

We haven't had any more snow, but since we are in Georgia, the roads aren't plowed and ice remains a problem. That means more snow days! Derrick has a late arrival for teachers tomorrow and I think we'll all be back in school on Friday. But we sure have had fun.

I don't think I've ever seen snow last this long and it I'm starting to see what it is like to live somewhere where snow lingers. The kids adjust and play...and play...and play. They take their summer toys and turn them into snow toys.

Derrick taught the boys how to throw snowballs with the chuck-it. The most important part of the lesson was teaching them to pull snow from beneath the ice layer.

Scott got his first lesson in driving in the snow...snow is deep and thick...

...and your vehicle gets stuck easily. Scott barely made it out of the shed before he realized he wasn't going to get far today.

So, the boys opted to move snow with the dump truck.

Andrew played more than he worked

But, Scott is a worker. He was determined to move the snow. (And, after we went inside for lunch, he stayed outside with Derrick to shovel our neighbor's driveway.) This boy was asleep before his head hit the pillow tonight!
