Snow...in Georgia...

...It only happens about once a year, so I took many pictures to commemorate this year's snow event. It has been a fun day.

The snow started last night around bedtime. Beautiful falling from the sky...

We awoke this morning to a blanket of fresh, white powder.

Not great for making snowballs...

...but perfect for snow angels.

So they resorted to kicking the snow at each other, in the same way you would kick water while at the beach.

These two loved the snow and stayed out much longer than Andrew.

And Farley LOVED the snow. He ran in circles all morning. It's funny how dirty he looks next to the pure white of the snow.

We had about 5 or so inches.

The slide was quite fun. Slide...

...and land in a pile of snow.

Amanda thought she needed to try also.

Derrick spotted Amanda while she was on the pirate ship. I don't think most Caribbean pirate ships see this much snow!

I was inside at this point, so didn't know about this until I downloaded the pictures. Leave it to Scott and Derrick to think that 30 degrees is a good time to muck in the creek.

After all that outside play, most people would want hot chocolate. Not this family. They enjoyed snow slushies. I thought that sounded like a good idea until I realized that Derrick was using his Big Red soda to make them. In case you aren't from Texas, Big Red is a disgusting bubble gum soda that we always get on our Texas holiday. The kids and Derrick love it, though.

(I had one with real maple syrup...much better!)

We've had a fire in the fireplace all day.

And, we've all spent time on our favorite indoor activities. Amanda's current favorite is looking at her American Girl catalogs. We don't own one yet, but she sure loves to dream.

Andrew and Scott asked for a Fort Permit. It's been a while since they have built a fort. We just don't seem to have as much time at home these days, so it was enjoyable for everyone.

We are about to sit down to a soup dinner...Derrick started it early this morning, so it would have plenty of time for the flavors to develop. I can't wait.

And you can't have a day at home without Amanda making a huge mess, as she is "caring" for her babies.

Andrew enjoyed wrapping up in his blanket after his second time outside.

...while Derrick and Scott shoveled the driveway.

And, finally, what better way to end the day than a movie and nap with Daddy.

It has been a fun day. And we'll have another "snow" day tomorrow because the roads are quite icy. But, to be quite honest, I'm good for another year. One snowfall per year is fine with me.
